   Cleft Lip and Palate:

       The great majority of work done at Nevada Plastic Surgery is cosmetic surgery. However, we reserve a special place for children and adults with cleft lip and palate deformities. While in Michigan, Dr. Sullivan was for ten years the Chief of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Director of the Craniofacial Anomalies and Cleft Palate Clinic at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan, one of the busiest children’s hospitals in the country. During this time, Dr. Sullivan earned a reputation as an national authority on children’s  problems in plastic surgery, especially cleft lip and palate. He is the only plastic surgeon in Nevada who is an active member of the International Society of Craniofacial Surgery and a Plastic Surgery Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is also a member of the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association and the American Association of Pediatric Plastic Surgeons.

        Dr. Sullivan continues to make his surgical expertise available to children with cleft lip and palate regardless of  their insurance status or ability to pay. The treatment of cleft deformities is long term and complicated and is outside the scope of this web site. Families with children with clefts as well as adult with long standing cleft deformities are welcome to meet with Dr. Sullivan to discuss treatment options.
