Breast Augmentation:
Our most commonly performed procedure and an area of
special concentration at Nevada Plastic Surgery, this is certainly one of
the best in terms of patient satisfaction. We
spend a large amount of time with patients desiring breast augmentation. There
are many choices available and many decisions to make.
This is an operation that must be tailored to each woman.
Patients differ about
how large they want to be and these differences are respected. Also, the stature
and size of the patient impact what size implants will give the patient the look
that she wants. Plenty of time is spent to allow you to be comfortable with your choice.
Implants can be inserted directly beneath the breast or deeper under the
pectoralis muscle that lies under the breast. We do both procedures. For some
patients, those who are very thin with little breast tissue, under the muscle
may be more appropriate to provide a more natural covering for the implant.
Insertion under the muscle involves more pain for a few days, however, due to
the muscle stretch. Insertion directly under the breast on top of the muscle
involves surprisingly little pain and may be more appropriate for a patient with
an adequate amount of breast tissue and a little bit of droopiness (breast
ptosis). For many patients, they may choose either way. The pros and cons of each
approach are discussed during the consultation as well as the choices of implant
shapes and textures available as well as the different incisions possible.
Incisions can be placed in the fold under the breast, in the armpit (axillary),
or around the areola (dark tissue around the nipple). There are pros and cons
for each approach. Most patients have the incision hidden under the breast and
are very happy with it.
This operation
needs to tailored to your desires and your particular breast anatomy. It is
definitely not one size fits all. During your detailed and lengthy consultation,
we will take you through all the choices to find what is right for you.

Breast
Lift:
Breast Lift is designed for patients with significantly droopy breasts (ptosis).
Generally, this means that the nipples are below the level of the fold under the
breast and are beginning to turn down. In
extreme examples, the nipples point straight to the ground. During the
operation, skin is removed in a particular pattern so the breast is reshaped and
lifted and the nipples are moved up to a more normal position. In return for a
more pleasing shape, a noticeable scar, though acceptable to most patients,
remains. Some patients have
a minor degree of ptosis and a breast augmentation alone may take care of the
problem. However, for significant ptosis, a breast lift may be necessary.
Frequently, an enlargement is done at the same time as the breast lift for a
better aesthetic result. Look at some Before and After

Breast Reduction:
Women with large heavy breasts may have problems with neck and back
pain, skin rashes, and shoulder strap marks. The treatment for this problem is to
reduce the size and weight utilizing an
incision very much like that used in breast lift. Along with decrease in size
comes a more visually pleasing shape and the nipples are raised to a normal
position. This procedure is sometimes covered by insurance.

Male
Breast Reduction:
Men sometimes develop embarrassingly enlarged breasts.
Fortunately, ultrasonic liposuction is an ideal treatment with great results. See
